HR Panel:  The focus is to help attendees learn from those who have advanced in their careers through various levels, to include the Executive level as well as an HR entrepreneur; sharing their insights, lessons learned, the various paths to attain this level and what it is like to be at the their level working with other Executives and the C-suite.   This refreshing approach to learning from those who have the practical knowledge and real-world experience of Executive leadership in strategic, business leadership.

Speaker Bios:

Beth Amoroso is the director of human resources and service at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa, a position she has held since 2007.  In addition to developing and implementing service strategy for the business, Beth oversees all aspects of the HR function including Employment, Comp and Benefits, Training and Development, Internal Communications and Engagement.  Beth started her casino industry career in Atlantic City, NJ and has worked in HR and Organizational Development leadership positions throughout Caesars Entertainment since 1989.

Beth currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce and was named the Chambers Businesswoman of the Year in 2017.  Over the past several years, Harrah’s Ak-Chin has received honors such as Best Places to Work in the Valley, Valley’s Healthiest Employer, HR Best Practices and Corporate Philanthropy Award finalist sponsored by the Phoenix Business Journal.  Harrah’s has also been named an AZ Business Journal Most Admired Company and named to BestCompaniesAZ 15th Anniversary list as one of Arizona’s Top 100 Companies (Best of Cool).  

Beth is originally from the Philadelphia area, is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, and lives in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix with her husband and two dogs!

 

Tina Burkhead is a results-driven HR professional with 24 years of experience, committed to adding value to an organization through collaborating with all levels of management. As a true business partner to leadership, Tina understands the importance of knowing the business to drive Human Resources initiatives within an organization. As she has successfully built and re-built small to mid-size HR departments, Tina has become a trusted resource, receiving requests to mentor/coach leaders in her current role.


Tina currently works as an Executive Director at StrongMind/Primavera Online High School. She earned her BA in Business from St. Norbert College, holds SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) nationally and locally (SHRM-GP) and Arizona Executive Forum (AZHREF).

 

Linda Michaels is the founder of AZ HR Hub and brings over 25 years of human resources experience.  Linda has been an HR strategic partner to start-up companies, small, mid-size and Fortune 500 companies.  Linda has her bachelor's degree in Human Resources and her PHR certification as well as her SHRM-CP certification through SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management).  Linda enjoys giving back to the HR community and serves on the board with SHRMGP as the Central Valley chair.
