HR systems:  Executive buy-in, system selection, implementation and ongoing use; best practices that organizations of all sizes can use.  Presented by Lynda Anderson-Casey, an HR Consultant with Employers Council

 

Why is it that so many HR systems fail to live up to expectations? People tend to blame the vendor for not delivering on what was agreed, or the software itself for not working as designed when in the vast majority of cases, it’s more likely a result of insufficient planning or lackluster implementations. Come to the March 13th membership meeting to learn how to plan and implement any new HR system in 10 steps. Lynda Anderson-Casey, an HR consultant with Employers Council, will share best practices for HRIS implementations, including several simple templates and checklists that you can use to make sure your next project is a success!  Everything from how to get your leader on-board, to figuring out which system to purchase, to what happens if the system doesn’t work, will be discussed.

 

Lynda Anderson-Casey is an HR Consultant with Employers Council in Scottsdale, Arizona. Employers Council is a non-profit, membership-based consultation services provider with offices in Colorado, Utah and Arizona to assist members with all aspects of the employer/employee relations.


Previously, Lynda served as executive director of Human Resources at Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio. CState employs more than 2,500 employees to serve 27,000 diverse students across multiple campuses. Lynda led a team of 25 HR professionals responsible for recruitment, employee relations, professional development, succession planning, benefits and compensation, and the strategic use of HR technology for informed decision making. Prior to joining CState, Lynda was a Senior Human Resources Manager at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Phoenix, one of the largest of the 10-community college Maricopa Community Colleges network serving 220,000 students. She has also held HR positions at Arizona State University and three AmLaw 200 corporate law firms during her 25-year-career in Human Resources.


Lynda holds a bachelors’ degree from the University of Louisville and a masters’ degree in labor and employment legal studies from Arizona State University’s School of Law. She is certified in instructional design and educational technology and is also a certified senior HR professional through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Lynda is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership at Franklin University, but still finds time to serve in her community and professional associations. Her hobbies include travelling, home remodeling projects and spending family time with her husband, five children and two grandchildren.
