Strategic HR: What's your story?

Session #1 - Predicting the Irrational: Exploring the Fascinating Brain Science Behind Employee Behavior with Eric Bailey, president of Bailey Strategic Innovation Group

Economists base their work on the idea that people will behave rationally. We all know, based on our experience in the workplace, that this isn't always the case. What if we could predict people's irrational behavior? We could end frustration. Experience how brain science and psychology can change every relationship in your life (personal and professional). Eric Bailey lends his uniquely entertaining presentation style to help you go a level or two deeper in your ability to effectively work with the humans around you.

Session #2 - Leading Us Beyond Bro Culture with Nonnie Shivers of Ogletree Deakins

Dominant masculinity has currency. Behaviors traditionally associated with masculinity - drive, grit, assertiveness, taking charge - are often rewarded, promoted, and modeled in the highest ranks of leadership. Those who do not behave in accordance with that stereotype get left behind.  Those who don’t fit in to the culture or in-group making deals on the golf-course at the club, over whiskey and cigars, or even at the strip club may not have direct evidence or even indirect evidence of animus but leave us asking – how do we identify and eradicate bro culture from our enterprises and why should we do so?

Session #3 - Establishing HR's Strategic Value as Partners to the Business Panel moderated by Nicole Lance, CEO of Lance Strategies and Managing Partner of Extraordinary Balance
As the role of human resources continues to evolve—whether you’re an “HR of one” or a practitioner in a large company—to remain effective we must continually establish credibility, show our relevance, and make clear connection between the work we do and its effect on business outcomes.

Engage in a dialogue with three highly respected HR professionals and one business leader about how to establish, maintain, and grow the partnership required for the business to reach its full potential—the link between human resource strategy and business strategy that gets the job done. Walk away from this session with practical tactics to differentiate yourself throughout your human resource practice.
