HR Trends for Small Businesses with Eric Knott

With the flurry of recent court decisions and changes with employment best practices, staying productive and competitive has been a moving target for Arizona small businesses.  The war on talent has many positions going unstaffed, or business may settle for under-qualified candidates.  Determining wage equity (by gender) within the organization, providing effective manager training related to workplace harassment, utilizing independent contractors versus relying on temporary or permanent employees, and gauging the merits of workplace wellness have all been recent topics in the Arizona small business employment community.  Join us and the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) for this fast-paced look at a number of trending topics impacting small business employers.

Presenter: Eric Knott is a lecturer in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business.  He owns the HR consulting firm FinePoint HR, is the past president and current board member of the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Phoenix, and is a board member of ASBA.

About ASBA: The Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) is THE VOICE for small business in Arizona, dedicated to promoting success for entrepreneurs, the business community and economic growth in our region. ASBA provides effective resources for businesses of all sizes with fewer than 500 employees, including education and mentoring opportunities, professional connections, and support resources through our strategic partners. We have a pulse on the business landscape, the issues and initiatives that affect small businesses and work diligently to advocate for legislation and regulation that supports a pro-business environment. Representing businesses across Arizona, ASBA empowers its members and promotes a thriving small business community.
